“Wipe downs” with a rag is a housechore that you give to toddlers.

My company already cleans frequently. Why do I need to hire a Boston coronavirus disinfecting company, too?

According to the CDC, “Cleaning refers to the removal of dirt and impurities, including germs, from surfaces. Cleaning alone does not kill germs. But by removing the germs, it decreases their number and therefore any risk of spreading infection.

Disinfecting works by using chemicals, for example EPA-registered disinfectants, to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs. But killing germs remaining on a surface after cleaning further reduces any risk of spreading infection”

We believe that a combination of both cleaning and disinfecting is the best form of defense and reduction to the spread of the coronavirus. While cleaning frequently is helpful, it will not provide the efficient coverage that our COVID-19 Boston electrosprayers will such as under desks, around doorknobs, and other hard-to-reach areas.
The CDC provides several recommendations for cleaning and disinfecting community facilities.

As a Boston employer, what are the COVID-19 liability risks?

Employers are required to comply with OSHA and CDC cleaning practices. Employers also have an obligation to provide a safe environment for their workforce and customers.
Law firms such as Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner have stated that if your premises is related to COVID-19 exposures, employers should be prepared and anticipate potential claims based on negligence or gross negligence. Litigation has already begun in cruise line industry – where passengers have filed a $1 million lawsuit against the cruise line company over the handling of COVID-19 alleging gross negligence.
As the federal, state, and local guidance evolve, more litigations are likely to occur across other industries and businesses.

I thought COVID-19 is spread from person to person. Can COVID-19 be spread by touching surfaces?

According to the CDC, “SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can be reduced and killed from surfaces, objects, and hands if the right products are used correctly. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person to person, but it may also spread by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching your own mouth, nose, or possibly your eyes. Cleaning and disinfecting can reduce the risk of spreading infection by reducing and killing germs on surfaces people frequently touch. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has compiled a list of disinfectant products that can be used against the virus that causes COVID-19, including ready-to-use sprays, concentrates, and wipes.”
